Anodised aluminium sheets, profiles and extrusions can be left natural or coloured in order to meet particular aesthetic requirements. The anodic oxide layer in fact has a porous structure that lends itself well to being coloured.
Oxidal Bagno is able to perform two different techniques of aluminium colouring:
The colour variants will differ depending on whether one or the other technique is used.
Electrolytic colouring of aluminium involves the immersion of the anodised material in a tin sulphate or copper sulphate solution, to which current is applied.
Depending on the chosen solution and the immersion time, the surface takes on a bronze and copper colour in different shades: champagne, dark bronze, dark brown… to black.
Colouring by absorption of aluminium occurs by immersing the anodised material in a ferric ammonium oxalate solution for a variable period of time depending on the desired shade. The result will be a gold colour.
Upon request, Oxidal Bagno is also able to create smoky, electric blue and cobalt colours, by diluting the solution with organic dye substances, like those generally used for dyeing fabrics
Aluminium anodising is a process with an anti-corrosive and aesthetic function.
Anodised aluminium sheets, profiles and extrusions can be coloured.
In order to maintain the anti-corrosive properties and aesthetic characteristics unaltered over time.
